The Wharf Muslim Association ("WharfMA") is the body for Muslims working in Canary Wharf. WharfMA was set up with a key aim of supporting the ever increasing Muslim community of Canary Wharf. WharfMA is a registered charity*.

WharfMA's vision is to provide true representation, inspiration and support to the Wharf's community, both Muslim and non-Muslim.

Our Objective

a)       To represent the Muslim community in Canary Wharf

b)       To provide educational and Recreational services

          that is of benefit to the community.

Our Activities

Circles in the Wharf

Educational and inspirational lectures held every month bringing together a mixture of speakers and professionals from Canary Wharf. The programme was started in Nov 2006. The majority of events are held at the Idea Store, Canary Wharf.

Eid in the Wharf/ Social Events

Eid in the Wharf is an annual event bringing together Muslims and non-Muslims to celebrate the occasions of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Attended by hundreds of leading professionals from Canary Wharf and performers and speakers from around the world, this is an event not to be missed!

Matrimonial Service

 Twice in a year (one in summer and one in winter) we organise the Canary Wharf Muslim Marriage Event for professionals looking for a spouse in a halal environment and it usually held at the Britannia International Hotel, Canary Wharf. Alhumdullilah, through these events many have married and found potential spouses.

Courses

Teaming with leading providers we offer a variety of courses including courses in Arabic, Mandarin, Tajweed and other Islamic courses.

Mentoring and Education

Working with Tower Hamlets College, we offer a mentoring scheme providing support to the students of our local community.
